Visit to Edgbaston Reservoir.

“The reservoir was built in 1827 by Thomas Telford as a top up for Birmingham’s canal system. It is situated close to Birmingham City Centre and is a site of importance for nature conservation. The reservoir holds 300 million gallons of water which is also used for recreational activities and home to rowing and sailing clubs. As you walk around the reservoir you will come across various exercise stations and picnic areas. The reservoir perimeter provides a pleasant route for joggers and dog walkers and is approx 1.7 miles long.”

We enjoyed a peaceful stroll around the reservoir looking at wildlife and enjoying the sunshine. Thank you to Andrea Mutter who brought along some delicious home made gingerbread.
